Walk away from it. It really isn't that important to get it done immediately. Do something else completely and go back to it in a few days time with a clear head and you will probably find a way of getting it to fit.

Interesting! Thanks for posting the attachment. I can confirm that St James Garage, Sutton is still there although now just a petrol station, having been a Volvo service centre for as long as I can remember before that.

Just got my renewal notice from Peter James, £91.20 for two cars, unlimited mileage, agreed value, including breakdown cover.

I would certainly support this if the parts could be made in stainless steel at reasonable prices. 2 years ago I replaced just one Herald bonnet catch with a new one bought from one of the larger Triumph parts suppliers. The chrome on it is now in worse condition than the original one on the other side.

What he said. I had the same happen to me and changed to Peter James, whose premium was far more reasonable for the same cover.

By coincidence, just as I was reading this thread the latest edition of "The Courier" dropped through my letter box. On page 44 is a very comprehensive guide, with photos, of how to replace all the bushes on the gearbox remote of a GT6!

Same thing happened on my 13/60. The actual handle and button had worn so I had to get a replacement but I was able to swop the lock barrel over so keep the same key.

Yes - if the details are wrong there is a section on the V5C for you to make changes. I had a similar problem with my car when I bought it because the engine no. and chassis no. had been transposed. It took 3 attempts and explanatory letters and photos to DVLA before they managed to send me a V5C with the numbers the correct way round - and then they sent me 2!

All finished now. Thanks for all the advice. I have also ordered a gas strut for the bootlid from the club shop.

I tried that but "My Gallery" did not appear as an option on the drop down menu. However I have now managed to set up my gallery, but I must admit that I cannot remember the various steps necessary to do it, and now "My Gallery" does appear in the drop down menu. So it seems that you have to set up your gallery before it appears in the menu under your name. Thanks for all your help.

Thanks but that is not the problem. I can copy links from Photobucket into posts, and upload from my computer into posts, but I cannot see how to upload or copy photos into "my gallery" in my profile.

I am probably being very stupid but I cannot see how to get photos into my gallery from my computer or from Photobucket. Advice please?

Before refitting the tank I installed some sound deadening material on the panel behind it. After the problems I had getting the tank out I was not looking forward to refitting it, but it went straight back in with no problems!
