Thanks Doug, yes, I have the wiring diagrams available but am confused by the 2 wires only to the light in the roof. One live and one earthed via the light switch to the door switch to earth. The query I have relates to putting the light on, via it's own switch when the doors are shut. Surely it needs a 3rd wire to earth off it's own internal switch. It has 3 spade connecters. I can't insert another wire and need to use one wire twice but am confused (as usual) how to do this!! ??

Hi all. I have a spare (vinyl coated, very posh) hard top with 'illumination' ! I've worked out that the bulb holder should be wired 'live' and the switch side earthed. (I think) so.....it has two wires though the lining and down to near the B post. I guess one to be permanent live and one to the door switch but how do I earth it so I can switch it on with the doors shut? My little neurons are not running about as they should! Serious problem this... I so often sit in the car in the dark and need to read or find my way out

Do you ever get in your modern and press the brake to de-clutch??? I'm so used to sitting twisted to the right ! Then again, the opposite when jumping in the Triumph after running the modern..... were the hell has the clutch pedal gone, whilst blipping the brake Still found nothing to do on Plum..... oh ! I fitted an 'overdrive' badge as it has Toledo box+o/d Bored bored bored

Hmmmm. ! I only paid £14.02 this time last year for 7lt and it seems a bit thin when hot but it is keeping my bottom end nice and quiet:)

Richard, I definitely recommend a herald 13/60 convertible as the way forward Preferred colour being Damson.

I have some jb weld, that also sets hard. Also a tube of alloy wheel repair which is malleable. I like solder though it's pretty little drops that set in the carpet and no way can you remove it without cutting the pile or burning it out. Mrs Jeff does not let me solder indoors now

not a shallow dish but a little crack. I could make them a shallow dish and fill with solder ??? Hmmmm?

Well, as I do not have any brazing or welding facilities, should I just put some filler in and tidy up the cracks. I'm still concerned about the little hole which has rusted through. I suppose I need to take door card off and look up and see why it is a 'trap' Anyone else had this? I'm preparing the car for sale as I need another project (Vitesse?) as this 13/60 is now sorted (apart from very minor paint/body defects!

?... so the new horn push outer spring does not make the electrical connection to the new boss?? Maybe clean some paint off where it pushes in? Surely the boss will earth when the main fitting nut is tightened? sleep on it and let us know tomorrow how it goes.

Yes. Doug &Colin are right. Mine is a 13/60 and you need to shorten the wire, bin the rest and connect it to the the brass centre of the 'biro' tube..... or.... bin the outer wire and make your own connection from the centre pin to the brass insert in the plastic tube as shown in Colins photo. If you have lost that, you need a new one! It was a simple job. I think you are possibly overthinking it. ???

Is it normal to find 'stress' ? cracks in the door top? I also have a 'hole' .. .....is there a water trap or something there? 1st pic, hole on right and crack on left nearside 2nd pic is o/s

Doh...mine is of course fibreglass and herald/vitesse size. Back in the 70s my spit top was steel and much smaller...??

I fitted it on the car yesterday !!! It was raining and cold

Aaaah... straining my memory now but it was under 20kg. Even possibly as low as 14kg
