Mystery Propshaft - What is it?

Hi, 

I picked this prop up as part of a bunch of spares that came with a Vitesse 6 many years ago. 

Problem is, I'm not sure what car it is for. 

With the sliding joint extended it is 104cm long, with the joint compressed 99.5cm (measurements between flanges). 

The flange diameter is about 99mm or 3" 7/8. 

3/8" diameter bolts in the flanges.

Can anyone identify it please?

Re-measured with a little more care 🙄 and it's 1.05m long, so definitely a non overdrive Spitfire I to IV.

Shame I don't own one of those, really 🤣

Yes unfortunately not got a lot of value either as transport makes it prohibitive to sell plus the price of a new one isnt too bad...

Very true, I have half a dozen in the roofspace, Herald and Spitfire both, (possibly non-O/D GT6 too) and too expensive to deliver anywhere. Roll on the next autojumble in my area.

I quite agree, im afraid this one has a date at the local.tip in the New Year.

actually it will be only spit mk4. MK1-3 used 5/16 bolts. But agree it is not worth selling as replacing the UJ and then a balance would be not much cheaper than a new one

Been following this and thank you Colin for link to propshaft specs which i printed.   

Eventually will need a prop for my converted herald which will be sporting a Dolomite borg warner 65 auto box.  So wihen i get to that stage will be mesuring to see if one of the listed propshafts will fit.
