petegardner_901
Hi all. Re the distributor drive shaft I've always thought this picture is difficult to visualise - which is the larger offset - top or bottom in the pic? I can't seem to get the drive to line up exactly as in the pic either way - seems to be one tooth out when at TDC - does that matter??? P
Pete Lewis
The wsm from triumph doesnt give any details to help with the photo and keyway orientaion in the end its only important that the rotor points the the cap terminal and the terminal has a HT lead to the correct plug, what does matter is the position of the offset allows the dizzy to fit and not have the vac capsule fouled up on the block or generator etc. one tooth either way should allow a fit without fouling so fit the dizzy , check its all moveable to adjust the timing , set no1 tdc, check where the rotor points Fit no1 lead to what is no1 cap terminal and its job done Pete
Ben Caswell
Dont forget to shim the pedestal to ensure correct free end play on the dizzy drive.
