It's signal red,and the vin number is FD47773, Engine number FD 44284 HF. The mileage shown is 18k ,the only paperwork I have is some old mot's back to 1977 when the mileage was 5k so may be genuine. I would like to find out if the engine is the original ,is this possible ?can any one advise please. You supply the Commission number and pay the required fee and a few days/weeks later you get a certificate with all the data transcribed from the original production records for the car. thescrapman Posted December 4, 2014 Report Share Posted December 4, 2014 Stu There is a pretty good chance it is the original engine, the engines and bodies came down the separate lines at about the same rate, so they are usually within a few 1000 of each other, regularly with a couple of hundred. SimonO Posted December 6, 2014 Report Share Posted December 6, 2014 The DVLA V888 form is a good way to get all the history including engine changes and colour changes too. http://www.gov.uk/government/publications/v888-request-by-an-individual-for-information-about-a-vehicle £5, and takes a few weeks.
