KevinR
The Forum is not connected with the Club membership database, and it would be complicated and expensive to make an automatic connection. The only other way to do it is manually, and that would be an enormous task to keep on top of, with members joining and leaving all the time. In addition, due to the Data Protection laws, I am not allowed access to the Club membership database.
Anglefire
I admin another forum and am membership sec for it too (Though I'm trying to drop that one ) We have ranks for forum members - basically as Kevin has a red Administrators title, we have admin, club members, mods, committee members all in different colours - but it is a chore keeping them up to date - and I have access to the membership database! Unless the forum has "hidden" areas (Which I've no doubt it has for at least the admins!) from certain groups, then there is little point going to all the trouble if its manual process. KevinR
One of the long standing complaints about previous incarnations of the TSSC forum was that it wasn’t open to non club members. This forum solved that problem, but because it is not integrated into the Club website it can’t use the membership database. despite this downside, it has many other advantages being standalone. You only have to look at the unfortunate Horliks that another Triumph Club hs just created with their integrated forum and website. We are getting many of their refugees signing up here.
