On one of those meanders through the interweb that started somewhere completely different, I came across this and thought,  "I know some lads who might find it interesting!"

They sure can make small stuff these days. The second pic is an electrode array for implanting in your brain so that paralysed people might be able to control robot hands etc. What an absolutely  beautiful piece of machining!

That first one is quite big - I was at the university of Birmingham the other week in their nano lab (working not studying ?) and they had a sequence of pictures that made a pin head look big. 

But yes it is a thing of beauty and amazing that they can make things so small.

I once had , cant remember where from a type set from a printer about 5mm section with the lords prayer engaved on its end 

Needed an good magnifier to find it but it was readable  that was done in the lats 60s

There's something like picture 1 on my GT6, can't tell you where, it pinged off into the long grass.
