Steve P
Invested in the newly available 4 pot caliper for type 14 type cars today, well pleased with the quality and cost,Rimmers are doing 15% off Triumph stuff. A note on the sheet accompanying them says..Not suitable for use with Mineral Oil fluid, what type is that?,the car has Silicone in it at present,is that it?. dougbgt6
Steve, Have a scan on your browser to find out what mineral exactly is, but it's not silicone, so you're alright! Doug
Clive
Could refer to the citroen/RR LHM fluid?? I would think silicone or DOT4 etc would be fine....
Nick Jones
Mineral oil means anything with hydrocarbon content (engine oil, gear oil, LHM, ATF), as this will attack the EPDM rubber used for the seals. Brake Fluid (DOT4 or 5.1) or silicone brake fluid (DOT5) should be fine, though some cylinder/caliper manufacturers/ refurbishers will not honour warranties if silicone has been used.
