RayHutch
My painted wires need a really good clean. I’ve used a wire wheel brush with car shampoo but they need a bit more elbow grease. It’s only dirt (not rust) - what’s the best way to get them back to their best ? Thanks

Mad4classics
Love wire wheels; for cleaning I don't think anything replaces good old fashioned elbow grease. However, if you're in a hurry, try something like Greased Lightning One Minute Wheels; it's none acidic. David
PeaTear
Best to try a dedicated wheel cleaner. For really heavy dirt I use an acidic wheel cleaner, I'm not sure how it would fare with your wheels and you'll still need to put a bit of effort in
poppyman
Try elbow grease it really works...... Also good for cleaning oily parts as well. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Elbow-Grease-All-Purpose-Degreaser-500ml-Trigger-Bathroom-Kitchen-Solvent-Free/153306520394?epid=1781299855&hash=item23b1c7db4a:g:qBwAAOSwkHxb9CgL:rk:2:pf:0 Dont buy off Ebay, you can get it in local shops for about £1. This is a real product and not a joke Just a great product. Tony.
RayHutch
I went with Autosol and toothbrushes. Not a bad result but the supposed dirt looks to be where the paint finish was wearing through. Looks like I need to re-coat them.

dougbgt6
Oh dear, I seem to have a reputation. Even if I had wire wheels and despite my previous exploits, I'm not sure I would have thought of it. So Big up and respec' to Ray. Doug
