rlubikey
They did TR6 body shells about 15 or 20 years ago. I spoke to Heritage about 10 years ago when I wanted a spit shell and they said that the TR6 used what they called "soft tooling" for the panels where the original tooling didn't exist. But soft tooling has a limited life - you can only press so many panels before wear makes them unacceptable. He wasn't hopeful at the time about them ever doing a Spit. But you never know - they've presumably done the tooling of unique panels for the Mk1 Mini from scratch, so why not? I'm guessing advances in 3D scanning helped keep costs down with their Mini project. Cheers, Richard
thescrapman
They didn't do Spitfire shells due to no tooling for the rear "hump" over the diff. would have cost too much to tool apparently. I think most of the other tooling is worn out now having seen the piss poor fit of some recent panels.
dave.vitesse
They are very BMC centric, this maybe due to available tooling. The TR6 tubs didn't sell, the reason was said to be due to quality issues. Probably due to the non availability of original tooling. Dave
