Pete Lewis
Its been over stamped i guess the WE is not original and comes from a reconditioner some where Its in the right place but you can see stamp sizes change the end 8 numbers are smaller originals This may even be just a date code of week ending 6 95 ??? Martie
Thanks pete, scrapman id love to say either yes or no but have no idea what 3 rail or J type is?
Pete Lewis
3 rail is there are three selector shafts in the top cover, J type is a later overdrive solenoid on passenger side Orig would bee D type solenoid drivers side J types were used on late spit 1500 dolly and toledo, 2000/2500 Often used in upgrades , the other gearbox is single rail which has just one selector rod and remote has exposed rod 3 rail the remote covers the remote rods. Clive
That is a 3 rail cover. The dolly box is identical to teh GT6 box, and did get swapped about via reconditioners etc. If it has the J type OD that is an improvement over the D type. But possible the casing was used to build std GT6 internals into. So all is well, whatever way you look at it. Unless you are worried by the prefix not being a GT6 one...
