Neil Clark
The bonnet was pushed back against the windscreen wiper bases in the accident and the top of the fascia panel is slightly buckled where the wiper axles poke through. Is it very difficult to remove the windscreen frame to give me more access to the panel for the repair?
Paulfc
Hi Neil, What car and model is it? Paul
Paulfc
Hi, l”ve just realised this was part of another thread! I know the Mk1 and 2 GT6 windscreen can be be unbolted from the fascia reasonably easily - but as for the Spitfire ?????
thescrapman
Screen frame easily removable. Well it should be.
NonMember
Yes, the screen frame comes off quite easily. There's three bolts on the top of the dash and two long bars bolted inside the A-pillars behind the footwell trim. If the interior's all there you'll take longer removing parcel shelves, carpets and trim to get to them than you will need removing the windscreen. Adrian Cooper
Hi Neil, The two long bars that Rob mentions fit into tubes under the dash top. These bars can be quite well stuck in the tubes and may need an overnight soak with your favourite penetrating oil to get them free. Neil Clark
Thanks all. Time consuming not difficult 😀
