Vitesse 1600/6 Conv -Door Weather Strip Clips

Hi,  I have just fitted new Window Outer Weather rubber strips using the correct clips without any problems!  But when I tried fitting the Inner Felt Strips, I tried using the correct clips (Ones with a little hook) but the small part of the clip that hooks on to the door metal itself,  keep coming off?  Is there another type of clip that will fit?   Cheers Martyn

Short part to trim, long part to door?

Hi Colin!  Are you telling me that I have the clips around the wrong way??  Am I a Plonker or what!!

The short hook clamps the trim; the long bit clamps to the door skin. It's manufactured like that so that the inside clip doesn't scrape the glass as it goes up or down.

Some of the Reproduction clips are not made to the correct dimensions I'm afraid?

I'm sure if you could find some originals you wouldn't have any trouble.

However they must be like Rocking Horse Poo now 🙁

maybe give the clip  good squish in a vice to gain some grip ?????????????
