wimpus
Hi all, I had some treadplates on my Spitfire. But now replacing sills etc. But... years ago seen some very nice ones that fitted great, I was told that they where original. (Like the one in the pic) So was there such a thing on a Spitfire ? Any idea's ? Regards, Wim

Gully
According to Moss, the ribbed ones are original: https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/shop-by-model/triumph/spitfire/body-chassis/body-fittings/rear-body-fittings-spitfire-mkiv-1500-1970-80.html Part 25 on the linked diagram. rlubikey
Yes, originals are anodised aluminium, easily distorted and can look tired after 45 years. Stainless stay shiny but all the ones I've seen have a different pattern. Cheers, Richard
