Ian Cooper
Hi. I'm having fun with the door lock on my GT6 (passenger n/s). I've assembled all of the bits from my boxes and everything seems to operate as it should do but if I lock the door from the outside I cannot unlock it from outside. The internal release lever will allow me to open the passenger door but no amount of fiddling will allow this to happen from outside. Any ideas/suggestions greatfully received. Colin Lindsay
I may be wrong here - it's been known! - but I'd suspect the key; there's an idea niggling in my head that you can lock the door with any key, but it takes the proper key to unlock it. Don't ask me where that idea came from, but I know I've heard it before... anyone?

Badwolf
I had a similar problem. My door locks have always been iffy so last year I decided to fix them. I succeeded in getting them to lock with the key but then took ages to unlock them again. Dreadful job. I just gave up. I just put up the windows and set the alarm. Ian Cooper
Hi all. Thanks for the rapid responses, as usual, but no luck yet I'm afraid. The locks are new and the forks shortened to match the original (keyless) items. I think the slide problem maybe Mk3's, and I'm not ready to give up just yet, so thanks again folks. dannyb
My Spit 1500 ones were working perfectly well, until I never used them for 2 years. Same problem won't unlock. Last week I took the door cards off and spayed 3 in 1 oil everywhere. Wiggled the catch inside a couple of dozen times and then keeps using the key. I did this wulith the door open and used a screwdriver to latch the lock to simulate closing the door. Now works a treat. Danny
