alan.gilbert_6384
Hi everyone, Does anyone know the correct size of rubber hose to use to this connection between the plastic feed hose and chassis rail pipe, which I want to replace as i suspect its rather old
PeteH
I (think) it was originally 5/16" o/d. I did away with mine, there was another back near the rear suspension, when I replaced the whole thing with one length of Copper 8mm. Make sure you get Genuine "Ethanol Proof" Hose though. wimpus
Its indeed 5/16 /8mm. On my Spitfire I still have the original plastic hose to, seems to hold up well with the new fuel around here. Actually not been having real problems with the new fuel, think I just drive it to much 🤣
Pete Lewis
i think the only fuel problems you will see is nasty copies of fuel hose sold as E proof when its completely useless and cracks and rots out very quickly often much worse than the 50 year old proper stuff of ages past but it is the fuel gets the blame always use a reputable supplier whats printed on the hose is just that i advocate plastic fulel lines with as few hose joins as you can manage Pete
