  1. Not for me - older Devon member wants to make braking easier! I think Kevin may have hit the nail on the head - he wants to make the pedal lighter than it is.
  2. Thanks so much for the post John. So glad you all enjoyed it. Probably our biggest and dare I say it bestest ever display at Powderham. We were thrilled to have as many cars on Saturday as we did on Sunday which is very rare. Apart from your lovely special, it was great to have 2 smashing GT6s in the anniversary year. Jerry's and Chris from Leicester. Lots of cars we have not seen before, the early 948 saloon of Shaun, long time member Jon with his really nice and previous award winning Vitesse 6, a rare 1300 TC which we have not seen before, and I think at least 3 concours standard Spitfires, 2 of which are 1500s and the other is a young member's Mk III. We had 2 Acclaims, and through them gained a new member aged 17 who has one. Wonder if the vaporisation issue is becoming a more common issue? Would be very interested to know of other peoples' experiences. Pretty sure that was the problem with my Herald last week, has been fine since. The other two with problems yesterday may be slightly different, Rob wonders if he may have had 2 duff coils - and Jon had to stop several times on the way both to the show and on the way home. Neither of these cars have done a huge mileage recently - could this be the cause? Cannot claim the credit for the Herald's current good looks though, she was done by Andy Moss of AM Restorations in Plymouth. Turned out not to be as sound as we had thought she was but after so many years we should not have been surprised. Lovely to have her back though.
  3. Probably being a numpty as usual but those of you who know me know I do not DO technical! One of my members with a Spitfire IV would like to uprate his brakes. I have no idea technically what to tell him (John not here atm to ask) so you guys are bound to know. Can he fit a servo - I guess yes. How etc. Would appreciate help please.
  4. Great to see you and Chris, Bill. Hope you enjoyed the meeting. We were delighted with the turnout and many thanks for the valuations you did. Also for taking back the little query about PJ renewals to Bern. Looking forward to seeing you soon and in any event in June at Trains & Triumphs if not before. regards Sue
  5. The first of this year's SOUTHWEST TRIUMPH MEETS is coming up. The venue - Route 5, the American Diner on the A38 Haldon Hill opposite the racecourse. Meeting there 11am - Informal meet up with fellow Triumph owners. Some tables reserved for the obligatory food too.
  6. Our usual Club Night at the Star Inn, Liverton near A38 Newton Abbot. Wednesday 20 April. Look forward to seeing you and your Triumph but don't worry if it is not on the road, come along and meet the gang. Grub is good too.
  7. Bit late Pete but all best wishes from us too. xx
  8. That's what the Club is all about - thanks guys. Think we can sort it now.
  9. Thanks Pete - that's what I thought. 'Jassy' is having her make-up done for the first time since Dad bought her in 1969.
  10. Good to meet you Richard - we had a great drive along some of the best of the Cornish coast - yes Mike Crewes - I am complimenting the land over the Tamar!!! We then headed back to civilisation on the other side though!
  11. All about tax I believe as you have already said John. With my very slow internet speeds - download 0.5 on a good day - I'd still be downloading come Christmas! Reading the mag is a good break from being glued to a screen for me.
  12. My 13/60's rear corner bumpers have rust on the rubber holders but can't see new ones on the suppliers. Anyone any ideas please. Rubber bumpers were replaced approx. 2001 with Rimmers full set.
  13. The Autumn Southwest Triumph Meet is this Sunday - 20 September at Windy Ridge Diner at Trerulefoot Roundabout, A38 Cornwall. All Triumphs welcome.
  14. Looking up Stag stuff - see you tomorrow night when may have some answers!
  15. Yes - it is here again. Weekend of 11 and 12 July. We have a massive entry this year. Supported by members from South Wales, Somerset and Cornwall. Look out for our huge Area stand down by the railway. Even if you do not have your precious car entered - come along and have a chat to us over the weekend - we'll look forward to seeing you there.
  16. The Second Southwest Triumph Meet of 2015 will be back at ROUTE 38 at Trerulefoot on the A38. Look forward to seeing you there from 11am.
  17. The first one of 2015 was at a new venue - ROUTE 5 at the top of Haldon Hill, opposite the racecourse. A very healthy 25 cars out, most of us had breakfast or similar before a short drive down to the Farm Shop at Powderham, for more food.
  18. The annual 'tax disc' was enclosed with the January Courier, in exactly the way the previous plastic stickers were! Another of Bern's great ideas for promoting the Club - think we were probably the first to issue an annual tax disc for our membership. Club Shop is still selling tax disc holders very reasonable for all of us who got rid of them. Display them with pride just as you did the previous ones.
  19. Devon will be there again. Great to have placques up front Tracey - looking forward to seeing you all.
  20. We will be there - hope YOU will be too. North Devon has been a bit in the wilderness of late - now is your chance to show that you would like to have a vibrant Triumph presence in the north of our vast county. Look forward to seeing you on 7 May.
  21. All looking good for the big DRIVE IT DAY EVENT at HAYNES INTERNATIONAL MOTOR MUSEUM at Sparkford. As above, the discounted entry fee is £9.95 per person. All Triumphs will be parked on the track there, and we would like cars to arrive from 11.30am please. We now know we have cars coming from all over the country, with Triumphs promised from Leicestershire, Gloucestershire, Wales and all over the south of England. I have learned in the past that we cannot control the weather, but hey this is England! We look forward to welcoming you and your Triumph, in whatever condition (the cars not the people) - just come and swell our numbers.
  22. We have had loads of interest in this year's event. Cars coming from all over are promised. The entry fee will be £9.95 per adult which is a huge saving on their normal price. All Triumphs will be parked on the track, and they have allocated us room for 150 cars. Please do let us know if you are hoping to come along. As their catering facilities will be very busy, it may be an idea to bring a picnic. We are asking all Triumphs to get there for 11.30am please.
  23. As we had to postpone the run planned for 1 February due to the adverse weather, this has now been rearranged for this coming Sunday 8 February. As previously planned, we will meet at the Steam Railway at Buckfastleigh at 10.30, time for a coffee and look around. The run will be about 30 miles which will take around 1 1/4 hours and we aim to be at the Burrator Inn, Dousland for lunch at 1.30. Please contact AOs if you would like to come along, even just to meet us at the pub. In view of probable salt on the roads, moderns welcome.
  24. Great to see it. Thoroughly enjoyed the show and meeting up with so many friends from all over. Particularly enjoyed the Wall of Death - last time I saw one of them I was knee high to a grasshopper at the fair in Torquay with my Dad!
