  1. It is a brand new spring and I have counted six leaves. A partial reading of the Canley label on the spring reads "... WOR020623...". Six leaves appears correct for a GT6 Mk3 so it looks like I may have been fed "fake news" when informed it had the wrong spring fitted.
  2. This guy might know where to source Weber linkages !
  3. Pete, I will roll the GT6 out from the back of the garage this weekend, count the leaves and try and free the clutch. I will let you know the results. Nick
  4. I currently have severe oil leaks from the gearbox (speedo cable entry) and differential (near side drive shaft seal) plus the added irritation of a sticking clutch. Apart from the leaks, the gearbox, overdrive and differential are quiet and appear to be in good mechanical order. I also need to lower the rear as I am told the car has been incorrectly fitted with a Vitesse rear spring. I am looking for recommendations as to who could carry out this work quickly and effectively in the vicinity of North Herts. Has anyone had any experience of Robsport International at Shepreth/Melbourn ?
  5. The photo appeared in my FaceBook newsfeed because of my interest in preserved Avro Vulcan XH558. I believe it has appeared on several aircraft forums, one such post referred to it as: "This is the piccy of the Vulcan (XM603?) en-route to Woodford from Chadderton. It is the railway bridge in Hazel Grove, between the Rising Sun and the Fiveways junction. It only just fits, and there were special street lamps that could be folded down to allow the Vulcans to pass." I presume that this movement was during the original building of the Vulcan bombers, XM603 was built in 1963.
  6. My oldest car was a 1932 MG J2 - wish I still had it !
  7. Hi Pete Are the various float chambers universal fit on all Stromberg CD carbs ? Would these fit without problems on my top adjusting CDSE150 pair ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/332049672563?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Thanks Nick
  8. Does anyone know what thread the CD150SE suction chamber screws are as I need to get a tap to clean up a couple of threads ? Nick 3/16 UNF apparently.
  9. I have just bought a bought a very cheap pair of GT6 Mk3 carbs with the intention of refurbishing them. They were bought knowing that the dampers and suction chamber screws were missing, but these are easy to replace. The carbs seem generally in good order but I notice that the float chamber castings do not match and their is a screw missing from one, so possibly a "bitza" made up of miscellaneous parts. Is the mismatched float chamber likely to cause any problems ? I have yet to decide whether to refurb myself or to entrust the job to the Carburetter Exchange in Leighton Buzzard. Has anyone any views, please ? Photo attached. Nick
  10. I fitted offset rockers to a Mini Cooper S many years ago - but they came as a complete set with replacement rockers and pillars so that the rocker shaft itself was offset closer to the pushrods. I cannot really see those eccentric bushes being very effective.
  11. Very nice. Doesn't look as if it needs much tinkering with.
  12. On ebay at present: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triumph-GT6-Chassis-1971-Rotoflex-/252609054068?hash=item3ad0ac4574:g:oYgAAOSwcUBYE1vh
