  1. johny who knows no history all i can say someone looked after it,. best chassis i have ever had no welding original paint under waxoil . few body issues but not much , think was probably laid up due to the box
  2. thank you for input , have purchased the box my thinking can be no worse than the one i have fitted spoils the drive of the car . see what clutch kit i have when i pull the box paul
  3. as mentioned on a previous post my gearbox is noisy . from a 1500 dolomite attached to a 1500 engine. my question is will a spitfire 1300 all synchro box go straight in clutch wise , non overdrive box paul

  5. i normally apply 2 coats of high build 2k primmer then the cellulose . others may do it differently but it works for me paul
  6. going by my vitesse that looks like triumph white. old english more creamer . having sprayed at least 20 cars with cellulose over the past 10 years i can say all makes differ in finnish and application , have just used some from a company called craftmaster paints on ebay must say very impressed good finish easy to spray paul
  7. the rear screen rubber looks like the original not leaking at present but cracked and has gone hard, best left alone or can you still buy new rubber and how hard to change . done loads of fronts easy. is the rear similar to replace. side glass rubber is similar condition so will need doing . only had convertibles so saloon roof side of things new to me paul
  8. sure the speedo is spitfire mk1-2 other no idea
  9. hi may have some will take a look tomorrow broke a 1600 vitesse and early herald last year , not sure if i kept them paul
  10. i like the gauge with the oil pressure incorporated just cant place what car it was fitted too , shame i had no history with the car was well looked after at some point in its life no welding on the chassis from new .

  14. well looking like a rebuild not a 1600 vitesse . the problem is it may well have been set up for the diff, as my previous post no history with the car other than a hand written note book that looks years old stating 1500tc engine gearbox uprated diff have yet to find out what diff i have , can say very very fast off the line as a mini cooper driver found out on my first run on public roads sunday, he actually flashed me to pull over asking what the hell engine i had , stating could not be a 12/50 as badged. was peed off that a herald had out run him and going up hill. still not been out on a main drag yet so may well run out of steam at 50mph once i get my speedo sorted will know . paul

  16. had a go today seized solid , looking at it it is different from the herald 13/60 hole for main beam screw type mileage counter , any idea what car it came from . paul
  17. left some light oil socking overnight see what happens
  18. thank you going to have a go freeing it tomorrow if not then a good used i feel is the way to go .
  19. the cable looks the same as the broken one length wise part that goes into speedo ,seems to slot in fine then screws up as it should ?
  20. just been out if i shake the speedo the needle moves
  21. just to make sure i am right in thinking with the gear box end removed and i turn the cable the speedo should flicker at present will not even move cable solid .remove from speedo turns freely .
  22. ok so seems like speedo is the problem will have a good look at that its from a 13/60 has a vitesse dash fitted paul
