  1. Kev, The details you need are as follows:- East Coast marine Fletchers Yard Wellowgate Grimsby North east Lincolnshire DN32 0RG 01472 342317 ecm@lincstextiles.co.uk
  2. Kev, I will send Phil an email and ask him for the details.
  3. Kev, When I was Lincs AO, one of the members Phil Jones had a nice black mohair one made, I can ask him where he got it done as it is a super job
  4. Done this many times using the cord technique, the only thing I would add is to use a different lubricant as washing up liquid has a high concentration of salt in it which you don't want trapped under the rubber. Red brake grease would be better as it not corrosive.
  5. You will find that you can't log in to the main site at present. You can still view most of it, but won't be able to get members prices in the shop for example. We hope to have this sorted out by Thursday. We have had problems with the Static IP address with BT, this has now been solved, however it has meant that the temporary fix that our web developers have done does not work and they need to point it at the correct IP address. As I said we hope this will be sorted by Thursday morning. This problem does not effect either this forum nor the Face Book page.
  6. The more observant of you will have noticed that there is an additional section for the Club Shop now, which I added last week. I am sure more will come in time.
  7. My first GT6 was registered in September 1974 and was 24159, 59th from last, and I've never seen a newer one than that on the road. Unfortunately I had to sell it in the mid 90's and have regreted it ever since. It was TKG708N, in magenta as most of the very late ones seemed to be.
  8. Robin, I did spend some time looking into this problem, and it is a major problem in the Vitesse and Herald convertibles. If you mount the reel on the top of the diff (suitable strong mounting point in the boot) then in an accident there is no strength in the framework that the rear seat back is attached to, and the leverage and momentum of a person using the belt would flatten the seat frame which would then render the belts useless. The only way we could do it, is to put in a low level roll bar that follows the top of the seat ( to allow the hood bag and hood frame to fit as normal) and provides a strong mounting point for the reels. As there are safety implications the only way we could do this and sell them was to have a proper roll/safety cage company make them. The costs were coming out in excess of £250 not including fitting. Consequently the idea has been shelved. There is one member in N.I. who has made his own version of this solution and I am afraid his name escapes me. I am sure the engineering was well done but for liability reasons we could not offer his plans through the shop. So you are unfortunately on your own unless enough people want the safety cages solution that the cost comes down.

    Herald with a twist

Andy, Your plan sounds rather interesting, I would like to do something similar to my Herald, though maybe not quite so ambitious. My problem is not having the machining facilities or the funds to chuck at a machine shop to do it. So I will be interested in your progress.
