Ian Maxwell-Muller
I'm replacing the steering column on my GT6 MKIII and the indicator switch wires have rusted off. I have tried soldering them back on but there is nothing to solder to. Is it safe to bore through the existing holes in the pink circuit card and then solder the wires? NonMember
Why not just buy a new switch? The switch mechanism may contain bits of plastic that can melt, so any attempt to solder that close up may be terminal.
dougbgt6
Well it's something I might attempt although there's a good chance of mending it to destruction. Have a plan B ready for if that happens. And disconnect it from live circuit when you do it, obviously. New switch Canley Classics £26 New switch Rimmers £90 I'd try Spitfire Graveyard? I had one for a while but replaced with an original (bitza) one as soon as I could.
