Wagger
In chatting to Nephews, sons etc with old cars rarely used, it turns out that they have to drain their fuel out frequently because it separates and absorbs water causing running and starting problems. Apparently, it is so bad that their gardeners refuse it when 'Gifted' to them as their mowers etc. refuse to run on it. As our old cars do not have sealed tanks, even keeping them full is not a way of preventng this. So, best use them all on a regular basis or it is another case of negative investment. I Wonder if the TVO tractor guys can use it?
Iain T
So I'm told Esso Synergy Supreme hasn't any ethanol and rated 99 octane. Its advertised as E5 but apparently in most areas of the UK it's pure liquid gold and no ethanol. No idea how much it costs. Iain

AndyTV8
I understand that it can indeed be ethanol free - depends which refinery it is delivered from. around here there is currently a 19p/litre difference between Regular E10 unleaded and Super Unleaded E5 at Esso stations. ……. Andy Edit: the link above confirms that Esso refineries/logistics serving Devon, Cornwall, North Wales, North England and Scotland do not provide Ethanol-free fuel
Badwolf
Just found a service station only 5 miles away from me. Will have a look and see what they offer.
Wagger
Thanks for the info guys. I guess though, that ethanol will creep in as a 'Non fossil' fuel as time progresses.
