Paul H
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/385332650165? Looking at the pics the rear window has a strut added , seller says the strut is attached . Any ideas ? Despite the rust the seller says it’s not been fitted before. I thought sunroofs were added by after market sellers Paul
Classicscrap
I would think that the strut is to support the window frame during manufacture and storage, which would back up the statement that it’s never been fitted. 12/50s had sunroofs as standard, so they were probably fitted at the factory.
Colin Lindsay
Brand new unfitted; the support would be removed after fitting. There's also a brand new Herald bodytub in Nottingham, I'm almost on the point of attaching the trailer and driving over.

Hi Colin I think you will find the wings are the new bit and the rest of the tub will need attention eg the wheel well is shot Paul

Yes, but not at that price... and not from that supplier. The last one I got was woeful. I deal with them for other things but their apprentice must have been in charge the day my 1200 valence was made.

Colin I had a front valance off Fitchets for my Vitesse back in around 2003, I wasn't particularly impressed with it, it wasn't as bad as yours but needed a bit of fettling to fit correctly (presumably the original press tool is quite worn now?) I also found it started to rust after a few years, even though I had it media blasted and etched primed before painting, poor quality steel maybe? Pete Lewis
having a strut to support flimsy panels is quite normal and cut off once the BIW is completed as for factory my vit 6 heritage cert says factory fitted britax sun roof option Pete
