andycouchman_5147
Just bought a new grommet - the one that sits immediately below the fuel filler cap and stops the metal filler tube rubbing against the car's body. Questions: Do I need to remove or loosen the fuel tank to fit the grommet? Any tips etc if that's needed? My first post - so thanks in advance! Pete Lewis
you may need to release the tank to gain some clearance and fiddle and faf to get the new seal in place and the lip to pop over the wing hole , but some soft soap and gentle persuasion will get it in place if using a screwdriver or other implement protect the paint with a couple of layers of masking tape so when you slip you dont damage the paintwork ... Paul H
Pete's suggestion on masking tape is well advised - I found an old spoon useful - I used silicon spray , this helped Paul
