Gadgetman
Has anyone got any ideas what this cylinder head cooling tube does? it is behind where the water pump fits on a 1600 Vitesse early head and does it come out / replaceable? The normal parts suppliers dont show stock. part number 210829
Pete Lewis
yes it distributes coolant throughout the head , it should pull out, its made of brass/copper essential to give even cooling across the full length of the head . and swirl around the hot spots most engines have these . its one of the nutshell clues triumph decided its not to be mentioned in the WSM Pete
Colin Lindsay
It pulls out but is not available new any more, so like most things be careful you don't damage it. One of my 1200 heads is missing it completely, so will have to source a s/h replacement if they're available.
Gadgetman
Ok I’ll give it a go after the Head has been through the caustic cleaning tank at work....
JohnD
If you've got one, fine. I must have settled a dozen heads, never seen one. John
Nick Jones
I think only present in heads with pushrod tubes - ie 1200,1600 and Mk1 2L Nick
