Paul H
One of my winter projects is to correct the body tub spread on my Vitesse saloon. What should the distance be between the B posts and what are the reference points used Paul
Pete Lewis
paul, well from memory it was around 46.5" across the top of the wing glass flange flange at the B post its probably in one of my earlier posts about our antics with tub spread Pete

Pete Lewis
Yes there can be a lot of creaking and groaning going on and ive seen deck side seams open out , Something has to give , but nothing shows up as it spreads !!! Bit like the waistline Ha
PeteH
Hi Been struggling to-day with the opposite effect. I needed the tub to spread outward in order to get a decent line on the door. In the end the following "Heath Robinson" Set up worked. I got a 1/4" approx, which was enough to allow the door to fit without binding. Now all I have to do is repair a stripped Door bolt fitting!. ahebron
I cant find photos of my body spread hydraulic rig but I do like the simplicity of yours. Only difference is i would use a hydraulic jack as I am terrified of scissor jacks. Adrian
