Servo test?

Does anyone know if it is possible to test a servo on the bench? I have no desire to re-fit only to find later it is faulty.

It was on my Gt6 and is the factory fitted Girling power stop.

Any advice should be appreciated. Thank you, Colin.

Doubtful, unless you have access to a Vacuum pump?. I would have thought?. WSM, shows 2 types the later ones are service exchange only.

and with a vac pump or the use of a hose from the manifold  you need a rig to measure and plot the input loads and output effort and a specification to check the results against

Hi Colin,

Can I ask why you've got it on the bench? Was there a problem?

I had the original Girling on my GT6, it never worked very well, I wasn't too bothered, but then it started leaking brake fluid.  So I replaced it with a Lockheed type which does works VERY well. Lockheeds have a better reputation and are still for sale, but not Girlings I think.

I fitted a servo from one of our Commer WalkThru's to a Austin Maxi HL  ( twin SU and 421 )the ratio was on the high side and when MOT had the slide plates and a manometer 

scale the guy roared onto the plates and nearly ripped them out the floor...impressive stopping    a real  wolf in sheeps coat
