Ha   its a must have even they dont want  definitely SU

if the bore is 1.5" then HS4 1.25 " HS2 families

how you justify the costs of these with the hassle of tuning makes me wonder why anyone would bother

over the std set up all you gain is a headache and lost pocket money

Looking at the k&n website where they give the dimensions of their filters it looks like it’s an E-3211.  “No vehicle applications”. !!!!

THAT'S why they're giving them away, then... :)

Good marketing, even in clubs like ours. Back in the day that's all we ever got: bin the nasty old air filter box and fit a set of K&Ns. Everybody was pushing them.

I would say that K&N's are more suited to Weber, SU & Dellorto, rather than Stromberg's - purely down to tuning on a standard engine which is what Pete is alluding to.

IMHO, the ST airbox set-up on a standard Vitesse etc is more than adequate.

I'd say, but could be incorrect, that the main issue with trying to match K&N's to Stromberg carbs is the restricted availability of needles etc for that carb. Conversely the other 3x carbs have a far better selection to hand.

Regards.

Richard.
