Do they give some protection against stone chips Paul The real one's are supposed to work Paul, but have to be applied by a trained professional at a cost of around £600...... I have seen a car (modern) that has been done and it never seems to get dirty, nothing sticks to it... Would i pay £600? not a chance. Tony. Chris A
A friend of mine has seen an example of a car treated this way, he was very impressed by the way the water just runs off. Pay that sort of money? No, he said unless he had a car worth 250K minimum 😲

Ian Foster
Paul My late 2009 Honda S2000 was ceramic coated by the previous owner. It is certainly very shiny and sheds water well. No idea of costs or potential negatives, but I'm certainly not complaining. Ian

My modern has lots of small chips on the bonnet . Not down to the metal and wondered if a self applied ceramic coating would have prevented / reduced the chips .‘I’ve seen ceramic coating products which cost £30 to £100 just wondered if they were of any use Paul
