Stromberg 150 CD Carb Coupling or linkages

GT6 Mike

Recommended Posts

I have recently purchased a pair of refurbished Stromberg CD150 carbs for a Mark 1 GT6.

Does anyone know where I can find a pair of coupling rods with connectors?   My original ones have nylon connectors and pins but would like to keep the original set as complete and find alternatives for the new carbs.   Diagram attached to show what I am after.

Any ideas?    Alternative ideas would be appreciated also as I am guessing very difficult to find.

Cheers

Mike

I remember a few owners looking for these some time back; the originals are unavailable (although that's a phrase I've come to disregard in many other cases, some may yet turn up!); some of the modellers on here adapted metal clamps, otherwise other forums advise that you can use the TR6 version of the clamps.

Whilst Zenith are carb specialists they do stock linkage parts. I got a new spring linkage when I rebuilt mine (although mine was a Mk3 (CD150SE)). Take a look on their website. You can buy a brass rod if needed and cut it to length. I bought a tube to cut to a small collar to accommodate the smaller throttle spindle diameter as the original is as Colin said 'no longer available'.

Cheers

Thanks for all of these replies - Dave - exactly correct .......and I missed them!  (definitely a case of snooze, you lose)....  I cannot believe that they were actually up there for sale on Ebay after I had given up looking!

Paul - I like the look of that arrangement as an alternative.

Will respond to all of these replies / suggestions directly.

Cheers

You may have missed them last time, but they're back again:

That's Andrew Turner Carbs, he's sold two sets recently and has one left. Don't miss these but if you do it might be worthwhile giving him a call; that might just be the ones he has listed, not his entire stock.

Hi Dave - yes I emailed them - begged a bit and he found another pair and put them on site so that I could buy them - think they have two sets - like buses!   Thank you so much for drawing these t my attention - very grateful and excited to have found them.   Cheers.  Mike.

Hi Colin - I emailed and managed to grab a set of them.   After a very very long search cannot believe that suddenly three pairs come up!   Anyway thanks you for your input and suggestions - very much appreciated.  Cheers. Mike
