  1. Do the rear overriders have an edging trim as they cover the bumper? Paul
  2. Hi Colin I think you will find the wings are the new bit and the rest of the tub will need attention eg the wheel well is shot Paul
  3. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/385332650165? Looking at the pics the rear window has a strut added , seller says the strut is attached . Any ideas ? Despite the rust the seller says it’s not been fitted before. I thought sunroofs were added by after market sellers Paul
  4. Thanks and now understand . My clutch slave is leaking and considering moving across to Dot 5 . OKE dot 5 looks best value Paul
  5. General DOT5 ? Autometic is much more expensive than say Comma DOT5 . Is it worth the premium Paul
  6. This link might help I have fitted Freelander M12 wheel bolts to my Vitesse without the need of a Puller Paul
  7. Apologies Johny “This overrider is suitable for the Triumph Herald range & Vitesse range. This item is brand new and is pressed off the OE press tool . It will fit on the left hand side of the car.” I’ll pamper them even more now Paul
  8. Fitchets sold them as NOS and they will be pampered Paul
  9. Hi Colin .Yes best to buy from their website , rather than EBay . Cheaper postage . Website says limited stock Paul
  10. Should smarten up the rear of my Vitesse Paul
  11. Thanks Gav , certainly worth a try as I do have a powerful magnet though the washer is stainless with some magnetism Paul
  12. No luck with the magnet - too powerful . Camera didn’t show anything . Before I start pulling the box what could happen if I leave the washer in place Paul
  13. Hi Pete , thanks for advice . The stainless washer has some magnetism after testing the other washer . I’ve taken a “super magnet” from my Milwaukee LED torch and glued it to the end of my magnetic wand and plan to test today . Now I know the camera picked up a clutch spring I will be exploring further to try and locate Paul
  14. I think I’ve found the washer lodged in the clutch housing . Used my cheapie draper endoscope . Do you agree Paul
  15. Thanks Pete . Will remove the washer one way or the other Paul
  16. Hi Pete the other washer was stainless and not picked up by the magnet , I was removing the heater diverter. The annoying thing is I’ve done it before when changing the clutch slave and the magnet worked . Is it best to remove the box ?
  17. Pretty sure I dropped a stainless washer in the clutch housing where the clutch release is . Is it safe to leave or do I have to get it out ? Paul
  18. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115657273343? one if the pics shows it in a GT6 Paul
  19. Agree with Wagger . I’ve recently changed the sunroof top of my Vitesse Britax roof and wouldn’t be without it . The roof dimensions are likely to be the same . If you need advice / costings / suppliers let me know Paul
  20. When I emptied the box of oil , there was no crud / debris ie no tell tale signs Paul
  21. Yes leaving intact for when it’s required. I have another box , single rail spitfire box which is definitely for spares . The input shaft having significant rust . I purchased this one just for part 156911 as I understand this box shares the same 1/2nd synchro outer ring as the Vitesse . I’ll dig it out and start stripping just for the learning exercise Paul
  22. Thanks Johny . I’ll use this box for spares when required . My current set up for my Mk 2 Vitesse is D type OD which Uncle Pete sorted for me a while back . On reassembly Pete noticed the 1/2nd synchro outer ring might be incorrect or out of spec as it had a lot of vertical / horizontal movement. Part no 156911 . At the time I couldn’t justify a new replacement £100 plus so the box went back as is . Currently 1500 miles plus and the GB is behaving and 2nd synchro ( changing down ) is sorted and no excessive noise. I bought this box for part 156911 should it be required also to learn how the GB works Thanks for all your input I’m a little wiser now . Hopefully others have gained some more knowledge . Paul
  23. Hi Pete , cluster being the layshaft cluster ? Paul
  24. Removed the top cover . The selector forks look ok to me . Initial look at the main shaft gears looked ok, though lots of play on the synchro rings IMG_4935.MOV Check all the gears for chips and the only one was this one . Not sure which one it is . Properly mangled with tooth chips all the way round . Is this the 4th Gear ring ? Paul
  25. WE30 151 Though the W could well be a M upside down so ME30 151 Paul
