Hi Paul!  there is one on for £81 and the other £91?  The first states Not for a 1600/6 Vitesse?

The Denso 16404 is designed to fit a Kubuto Digger !!! hence the small size and low output . So long as  you get the correct model you will be ok . I have a mark 2 Vitesse so can’t see why it won’t fit a 1600 . The Dynamo I replaced was a C40L

    Good luck

Nb I paid £81 from memory just over a year ago so you are getting a good price

Yes I remember that but now wonder if it was due more to the oil pump emptying. If its bottom plate seals well it should stay full of oil indefinitely because its inlet and outlet ports both come in from the top. Then as soon as the pump spins oil should start to flow but if its gone dry this is much more difficult....

I’ve had my Vitesse for 7 years now , changing filter every year . The Man filter was the only time I had issues

I will check when I am at my lockup, mine is fitted to the block with a thread adapter for the Mann one, don`t know which thread your spin on has?.

One word of note, the Mann 714/2 was the subject of posts somewhere on here when after an oil change they could not get pressure up. I believe I have read this from 2 people, I had 2  714/2 on my shelf to try on my Vitesse to get less of an angle on the filter as they are smaller,  but abandoned the idea after reading this, I stuck with the Fram ones I use, works fine.

Yes it was my Vitesse which had serious issues with the Man 714/2 oil filters . Couldn’t get any oil pressure until i removed the filter and back filled with oil . I now use Fram . Currently I can’t find the original post

My car is a MK II Vitesse (rotoflex) convertible which I bought around 4 months ago.

I Recently installed new rear trunnion bolts, new donuts and then converted to tele shocks as the old lever-arm shocks were clapped and for me, there really was no question about the way to go. The improvement was immediately apparent; the car now feels heaps better without any clattering from the back end and it only shakes it’s arse a wee bit from side to side over bumps.

Incidentally, I fitted the ‘standard’ shocks (I don't intend to race and I am too old to be a boy racer) along with the Rimmer brackets however the brackets interfered with the body so some small adjustments had to be made.

I consider it was well worth the cost & effort.

I did the same with my Vitesse though chose Gaz shocks as it was part of the deal which the club shop offered . If standard shocks were offered I would have chosen them as currently the shocks are on level 2 any higher the rear end bounces all over the place . A worthwhile upgrade with the donuts supplied by Canleys
