Haha Yeah great isn't it!! I was thinking about the mouse possibility, Is there any feed towards the rear that's perm live? If there was, then that would be more of a possibility and could answer both situations - Even so Tunnel off what ever I guess! Oh fun! Aidan

Yes all fuses are fine. Can you get to the switch from underneath or is it a gearbox cover off?

So today started the engine up for it's bi-weekly warm up No reversing lights - ok fine After half an hour run, car and garage nice and warm engine off bit ignition on put in reverse..... Still no reverse lights. Both bulbs gone? Surely not likely? Reverse switch playing silly beggars? Any thoughts ??

Hi A question on replacement bearings for you all The +.010 + .030 etc, if your engine has been honed but not re-bored, can you fit any of these? Or must they be the std size only? Thanks

Hi Thanks for the advice - My concern is once rebuilt it may be a little while before its fired up for the first time. I have to remove the current engine but also want to clean up and probably repaint the firewall as its half coated in what looks like underseal Aidan

Hi Iain I'm just cleaning everything up before it goes off the the machine shop. Just wanted to know if it was best or ok to remove all the rings TBH, I will probably get them to refit the crank, bearings pistons and rings, as I have no real way of measuring what is needed accurately

The Pete What about that third ring/seal - will far need replacing with just a hone? Aidan

Piston Ring questions On number three the second ring is well not locked up but certainly doesn't rotate around the piston - why would this be? Is it ok to remove all the rings now as they will be replaced or are they still needed? What about the third seal rings- do they need replacement? Should I just remove them all to clean the piston sides? Thanks Aidan

Hi Replied on your other post, do you need the lock assembly or the lock barrels? Canleys sell or did sell a barrel set to fit one key so all locks are with one key only Aidan

It's on both aluminium and on the block so a mixture. The blade has left just a fine surface, you can hardly feel it with ypur fingerbut it's visually obvious

Recommendations please to remove old gasket I have tried various blades bit still have residue- what chemical is best to soften gasket / gasket sealant or another weapon of choice such as abracs poly disc? Aidan

From front to rear these are the average measurements 2.309 2.316 2.313 2.310 I'm not sure how accurate my micrometer is, it's a cheap one from maybe 10 years ago Aidan
