It could be some of the reclaimed poo that you can buy.... Usually branded as motorway and always sold in gallon cans. I wouldn't use to top dampers up.

Not necessarily; if you're going fast enough it comes in the front and just as quickly leaves at the rear.
If you are going really fast enough, it should evaporate on contact

Thanks for that, but your looking at the wrong car lol. It's a blue one near the end of the auction..
Thanks. PAUL.
It's that Colin bloke causing trouble again Paul. The auto or the manual?

It looks like a genuine MK1 that has just had a bit of a spruce up Paul. I would want to view it first as it needs the front seats repairing circa £800..... and it just lacks finishing. The boot lids tend to pop up when you are driving and are a sod to fix. Also they don't say if the auto box is ok?? I bought one 18mths ago and it's a great car but as with all Stags there is always something to do.

Have a look at Ford KA Street car seats Jeff, a few people have started using them as they tilt and some are heated.....Also most are leather.

Another Hobbit foot here!
And to get the pedals in the right place the cars would have to be a foot wider.

Surely it would be more difficult if you you had had another foot to get in Doug?

http://www.chapmanandcliff.co.uk These people are not to far Mike, not the cheapest but they do a fantastic job. There is a price list on the site.
Tony.

The heavy duty ones are easier but as Colin points out they can knacker your paintwork up. That is why i use the finger crunching type. you only do it once though.
Tony.
-
Thats the type you want Mike, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232275069668?hash=item3614ac4ae4:g:IjcAAOSwuLZYzRiN the ones on Ebay are a lot cheaper and do the same job. Depends if you have a Halfords nearby.

Ok, thanks. Just can’t work out why the fan was tight as I unscrewed the pulley fixing nut - I held the fan so as to unscrew the nut, but now has about 1mm gap and spins and wobbles, even though the nut that holds the fan doesn’t turn freely on the shaft if I carefully grip the shaft. Weird. I still think I’m missing something obvious.
Some do that Dave, the pulley has fell apart. Just put it back together and zap it up with impact gun as Pete says. Nothing you have done, it's just sods law in action.

Must be the forum equivalent of that strange new thingy on cars that senses drift and pulls you back again. Is there an override?
Wiper blades to clean the shower indeed. Where do you mount the motor?
You take the car in with you and clean the car at the same time

Levels were good and all rust removed during rebuild I’m pretty sure I need 1 or 2 more thou but wondering how important it is.
one thing I forgot was the clutch was solid and took quite a bit of pedal pressure to separate the clutch plate from the flywheel, is that common when not used?
Just change oil and filter, top up dashpots and give it a run to the garage for fuel. The noise's should soon disappear.
Tony.

I have seen Dentmaster remove bigger dents than that without repainting. Some of those guy's work miracles. And from memory don't charge for a quote.
Tony.
-
I would check all levels before running Adrian, including dashpot levels on carbs as this could cause bad running. as for a couple of drips now again, don't worry about it. Also have you changed the oil and filter? That is important. The slight rub will possibly be rust on the brakes which will disappear with use.

Sounds like a blocked rad Colin, for some reason they always seem to block in a circle from the centre of the fan. You can feel it with the engine off, cold in the centre. Also a bad airlock can can cause problems. Retarded timing usually causes overheating. So same as Clive really.
