  1. Hello I am after a bonnet badge in good condition. Managed to damage mine when I ran over it. Blond moment. Graham
  2. NOOOOOOO, everyone says that I as sit at the dining room table tapping away on a laptop look out at lovely weather and people walking around. Graham
  3. Adrian, have you checked the length of the slave cylinder, as these may be shorter than the depth of the bolt hole, so with a longer bolt you can pick up on good thread. Just an idea, May save you an extra job. Graham
  4. Another vote for Mike Papworth. Graham
  5. Good try John in attempting stopping the thread drift. Dick, I agree but I am sure that it could be set up that if you take the state pension then you agree/enter an contract to no longer work for a period of time, and a mark is placed by you NI number. So if you enter a PAYE job then it is highlighted to that person is taking a pension, which stops or the employee/emloyer is notified and/or fined. For example, after working for 17 years for the same company, we have been sold and I am having to confirm I have the right to work with the new company even though as far as I am concerned only my contact has been transfered (TUPE) so now I have to present my Passport to HR to confirm this, or the company will get fined. John, in an attempt to help you with thread drift, the handle in these devices are about a foot long and yes you will put more force on the system with your foot, however the tool is well made with a cast body, etc. Yes, a pin or something may be overstressed but on the other hand how often are these tools used. Graham PS Ian beat me to the reply, must speed up my typing.
  6. I consider myself very lucky, my wife who is self employed has closed her business, my son a chef has been furlough. Luckily my daughter and her partner both work in pharmaceuticals are working from home. I also work in the pharmaceutical industry. So overall we are very lucky. I do feel for those who future are uncertain going forward. I am close to thinking about retirement but at 61 will not get my pension until 67, I have thought it would be good if the government reduce retirement age, I retire get a state pension, pay taxes and free up a job for someone and hopefully remove someone from unemployment benefit. They will also pay taxes. So the overall cost to the government will be lower Can't see it happening. Anyway would I like to be doing something enjoyable or looking at a computer all day and dealing with some very annoying colleagues. I really can't say, both have benefits. Interesting back to you point about not working, this gives me an idea of retirement costs of what we need to live on. Graham
  7. Thank you Ian great pictures. Colin, some of us are quite jealous as we have to still work from home and have to walk pass projects, a specially when the weather is so wonderful. Graham
  8. Spoke with Angie on Friday, placing an order. As normal very helpful, brilliant service. Use the shop, will help the club get revenue in. Graham
  9. Cheers, just a rough drawing with the picture will work well. Very interested in making one. Graham
  10. Very interesting, I have one to and agree when in the vice 'very ackward to use. Any chance of a drawing. I like the box on the side for tools. Very well thought out. Also have you got too much time on you hands. Graham
  11. Looking at the picture the bubbles actually look like pin holes in the top coat, as if the primer is contaminated/ reacting and the top coat can't attach to small areas of the primer. Not a paint expert but I agree with Neil. You talk about leaving the bonnet outside was this the same for all other panels, at the same time. You can still get moisture on panels due to temp changes and condensation forming. Graham
  12. Whenever touching up stone chips I always spray into the cap and use a brush. Also I spray a bit of lacquer and mix into the paint for modern cars. Graham
  13. Paul, I have replied back. Graham
  14. I need to watch more videos, and someone posted a link in another thread which had a lot of interesting information. "couldnt get a job and ended up as a dental ceramist" that was a big leap and change of direction. Keep going. Graham
  15. That is all you can do is a bit each day, I need to replace the rear end of my GT6 due to a bodged repair/ restoration job. Lucky I purchased a roof section to repair the rear deck. Keep going, do you fancy doing another GT6 Just wish I could weld as good as you do. Seem to end up with holes. Graham
  16. Brooky, Good progress being made. The rear wheel arch repair is neat and tidy. Is the bonnet New, as it seems a good fit. Someone was questioning new bonnet fit recently? Once you have complete the sills, is that the body complete besides painting? Graham
  17. When you look at door panel sound proofing they place a patch in the centre of the door, not the whole panel. I would image this would be the same for the petrol tank, a patch on each large side panel. Graham
  18. Kevin, thanks I will continue to ignore it. Graham
  19. Hello I have a red banner across my page asking me to upgrade to 4.4.10 when I sign onto the web site. I have attempted to upgrade by never get passed a client password. Do I need this upgrade, if so how do I get it. I view the forum on a Kindle tablet. Graham
  20. One post and been answered by the forum. 100% success rate. We are hitting our targets. The above has been generated by the Government CoVid stats Test depart.
  21. Dick, looks very impressive. Thanks for the picture gives me a better idea of what I have to do. I need to do some repairs first but you have confirmed my thoughts to make it quieter Thanks Graham
  22. Dick Did you cover the whole of the boot floor, rear valance? Graham
  23. I applied it direct to a plastic gearbox tunnel. It appeared very sticky when you removed the backing paper. I would image you can apply it to painted surfaces if the paint was sound. I purchased it as it was cheap, seemed to have good write ups. People say that sound proofing works other say not. Like I said not run the car that much but I am impressed. I may use the surplus in the boot as I have wheel barrow exhaust on a GT6☺️ Graham
  24. Thanks Richard Planning on working on the GT6 on the drive, so will put a notice board out with details and joined in. Cheers Graham
  25. I recently purchased Noico, easy to apply seemed good quality. Applied it to the gearbox tunnel. Only taken the car for a short test drive but seems to work. I brought the 2 mm thickness. Graham
