Pettifordo
Any one know this wire might be for ? Front Fog Lights Everything seems to work (I don’t have from fogs….but I don’t like having a random connector
rlubikey
That looks like the connector for the brake pressure differential warning switch. I seem to recall it's mounted near the battery - two brake lines in (from MC) & two out (to wheels). Cheers, Richard
Colin Lindsay
That sounds about right, but should there be two cables going into it?
rlubikey
Good point Colin, I can't remember if it's earthed locally (to chassis via PDWA body) or a second wire which perhaps has fallen out? Richard
Pettifordo
Cool - that makes sense - I have put a single system on the car (it was too far down the road before I realised !) So I will ignore it 👍
rlubikey
You could put a float switch cap on the master cylinder and wire to that. Then at least the brake warning light on your dash will be functional.
AlanT
This is the wire that’s in series with oil pressure on late Spits @Pettifordothus why your oil light won’t work.

The bulb is in series but the stray connector is a branch off the side of that.

AlanT
Not sure @Pettifordo All I know is that when I did my 1980 resto I had to get the brake warning light working in order for the oil light to work. They are in series. Suggest looking at the diagram for a single system master and copy that (1977 ish). You may need to remove the brake warning bulb from the circuit. Don't put a jumper across the stray connector. As I said in another thread, you need the brake warning bulb in place, or you can put a jumper across that, for the oil light to work. But if you put a jumper across the brake warning light then you need to tape up that stray connector as it will be live.
dannyb
Just tuck it out of the way and forget. I also took my pdwa off and reverted to single line brakes. Danny
