Chris Longhurst
I get a header "Nuala Dowie's Facebook account hacked >" (white letters on an orange background) when I use the forum, does anyone else get this? I'm not going to open the message as I suspect a scam (I do not use Facebook) of some sort Chris
JohnD
No it's genuine , posted by Tom Hartley, our Webmaster. 'Nuala' asked me to be her Facebook friend ( I was) about a week ago https://www.clubtriumph.co.uk/forums/topic/18041-nuala-dowie/page/3/#comment-207667 Just click.on the right hand end of the header to remove it if it distresses you. KevinR
It's NOT a scam, its a message for all Forum members to be alert for a scammer pretending to be Nuala trying to scam money. Below is the warning you get if you click on the link in the header. A warning to ignore Facebook friend requests from Nuala Dowie Many of you will know this legend of engine tuning who died last year, a regular at Classic Le Mans. Some scammer has recreated her account and is pushing a sweepstakes scam
JohnD
On CT, people who knew Nuala, and her family, much better than I, are contacting Facebook to have her personal page "memorialised", so that it should be immune from further desecration. But who knows, with Facebook? John
PeteH
I do have a facache presence, but never acknowledge any unsolicited contact anyway. My Grandaughter had a very bad experience a few years back when some “oik” from her college hacked her fb page and posted all sorts of abuse. My son, her uncle, tracked him down, hacked him in return, and destroyed his software. It would have been a full rebuild at the best. He does cyber security work, so it’s all in a days work for him.
