trigolf
Morning all. I'm about to carry out a tappet check/adjustment. I have an alloy rocker, fitted for several years, with a trad cork gasket 'glued' to it as the thin gaskets did'nt seem available at the time of fitting. I now have a Club neoprene gasket ready to fit. Is it a good idea to glue it to the cover ( as it's supposedly re-useable) or fit it dry?
Pete Lewis
unless there is a distortion in the seal due to being stored wonky i have always fitted dry if its got a mind of its own and wont sit flat then a smear of soft sealer have seen the lifetime expire when glued down as the seal can tear quite easily but i have dry fitted for many years without any problems Pete
Andrew
Yes agree with Pete just apply dry no sealer required mine has been on for a few years now and no Leakes at all
PeteH
The only thing I`ve ever used, is a tiny smear of grease. Especially on the old "cork" ones. Pete
