Htiek
Vitesse Mk2 convertible... Found this bit on the removed parts shelf tonight and, rather worryingly, I can't remember where it came from! I've had a flick through the parts book but couldn't say I saw a likely candidate. Does anyone recognise it? Cheers, Keith
Pete Lewis
No idea myself, has the look of mill board /carpet/partition retainer , from somewhere pete
dougbgt6
Looks a bit like the battery clamp, but holes in the wrong place.
JohnD
Keith, Are you completing a restoration, that included taking the body off the chassisd in one piece? Then that length of angle iron could have been the one you made to bolt across the sill, where the bulkhead and rear tub join, to reinforce it when it was lifted. See the original WSM. Colin Lindsay
It's the retainer for the millboard that goes between the rear seat and the boot area. It bolts to the top of the rear spring tunnel.

Htiek
Many thanks for all the replies. The bracket for the boot millboard has started some vague bell-ringing. I'll be back to the garage tomorrow evening so will check if that's its home. Cheers, Keith
Htiek
The holes in the mystery bracket do indeed appear to match the spring cover plate fixing screws. Millboard mounting bracket looks to be the answer. Guess I'll have to paint it red now! Thanks again for all the replies. Cheers, Keith
