dougbgt6
Welcome. Does it have a number plate? Doug
Steven Adams
Hello there Well I bought the car in May and the seller didn't have the number plates but gave me the registration number. I have sent this plus commission number, body number, engine number and photos of the car. I had a reply saying there was a descrepency and needed more information but I have no more to give. Badwolf
Have you checked the reg through the dvla on line mot checking service to see if there is any history? https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history
Steven Adams
Yes I have and there is no mot history says it hadn't had its first mot. Also comes back as 1965, blue which is correct colour, but I thought they didn't come out till 67.
Badwolf
May not be the original colour. Mot prior to 2005 may not be listed. You might want to get hold of the free app 'vehicle smart' it may give more details

dougbgt6
Steven, This may be the way to go, DVLA accept their word as gospel https://britishmotormuseum.co.uk/archive/heritage-certificates Doug
Steven Adams
They will not say what the problem is but wanted a photo of the car with plates. I told them I have not got any

Badwolf
I agree with Doug, unless you can get a set of plates made up, for to be done legally you need the documentation. I am a little concerned about the 1983 registration though.

Steven Adams
Well from the bits of information I have I think it is one of the early ones. Do you think any historians can help me get more detail.

dougbgt6
Orange hit, no I think it's cool. I think your best bet is to fork out £43 and get a heritage certificate, DVLA can't argue with it. Doug
Steven Adams
Can you get one without a V5 document db
dougbgt6
Steven, If you check the site you will find you need: Marque and Model of your vehicle Car Number/Chassis Number/VIN Is the car number the number plate? The VIN plate is generally on the side of the bulkhead and tells you VIN, body colour number and internal trim number. Doug

Pete Lewis
The club do have documents to apply for a lost or missing V5 but the car needs verifying by an area organiser or club official that is prepared to do it In birmingham This sounds like you have have a bit of a ringer, ( used term lightly) Whats stamped on the vin /commission plate and the engine number Pete
Steven Adams
Hi Pete my commission number is GE15891 CV. Engine number is 604325. Dont think its a ringer barn found and everything looks original. Doesn't look like it has been touched for years.
