  1. Any chance of a link to the bulkhead condenser ? Paul
  2. Hi Richard . I have checked the relay by connecting the live and attaching a test bulb . No flashing so can safely assume its dead . I will be persevering with this switch and will call TSSC to discuss the options though cannot recommend this product hence the alternative as suggested to Blitz . I can source an electronic LED hazard relay for about £7 Paul

  4. I’ve tested the switch and certain the relay is broken. Because I’ve changed the wiring connectors and added a fuse it will be cheaper to replace the relay than send it back . The switch in my opinion is poor quality so can’t recommend this setup . A much cheaper alternative is https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLASSIC-KIT-CAR-Hazard-Warning-Light-Switch-KIT-COMPLETE-with-bracket/303032562097?epid=1154131254&hash=item468e25f1b1:g:SCkAAOSw5pRcQFe9. The only downside is that the switch is not so classic looking . Only 4 cables to fit , permanent live, earth , and 2 wires , one for each indicator. I would suggest soldered bullets on these 2 and they easily connect by replacing existing single bullet connector with doubles. The single bullet connectors are located by tracing the switch loom on the steering column. The wires on my Vitesse were green and green/white Paul
  5. Yes ok to install though the instructions aren’t very clear and the “tails” had bullets which simply came away with a tug . Theoretically the switch can be installed in a couple of hours though I took much longer as couldn’t understand the instructions . Now I could install one in less than an hour . If you proceed I can post better instructions which will make life much easier especially if you are new to electrics like me. Paul
  6. Hi Richard , I’ve tried a continuity check on the relay and got no reading. I’d like to track down where the problem for my education just in case it was my error . The unit was supplied with crimped bullets which simply pulled off so not quality . The wiring at the switch end seems fine Paul
  7. Hi Richard , indicators work ok . Purchased from the club shop though have modified the wire tails with connectors Paul
  8. Hi my newly installed hazard warning lights in my Vitesse mk2 have stopped working . I’ve checked the live feed and earth and both are fine so I’m suspecting the relay or the switch . How can I check if the hazard warning relay is working . The relay has 2 terminals L and B . Any input appreciated Paul
  9. It’s a dynamo , will use a long screwdriver to locate the source Found the source , depress the clutch and the squeak goes. It’s my old problem of clutch release bearing returning. The push rod from the slave is rattling against the clutch release Paul
  10. It’s a dynamo , will use a long screwdriver to locate the source
  11. Hi with tick over there is an audible squeak coming from the engine bay . Sounds like water pump which is 2 years old . Should I be concerned ? Any help appreciated Paul 8021BA21-B9C0-42A7-A142-D9B91F92E8B5.MOV

    Grease gun

Agree with Badwolf . Buy it now and you can pay £25. Follow the auction and you can buy them for less than a tenner . Both mine didn’t need any repair . Wanner are the best and not bulky Paul
  14. I warmed up the Gates with a hot air gun , plus Vaseline Paul

    Grease gun

I use Wanner , and purchase 2nd hand from EBay, price less than £20 . I use one for EP 90 for trunnions and the other for normal greasing Hope this helps Paul
  16. Thanks Pete and Johny . I’ll richen the mixture by half a turn and report back next week. The current setup is new Delco with Accuspark , Huco pull fuel pump . I know the issues with the reliability of Accuspark so looking to have my Lucas 22d reconditioned with traditional points . Is this a DIY or it best to send away to a professional . One point is that the Delco seems to rev more freely with much higher range . Maybe it’s just me and my foot was more firm Paul
  17. Hi my Vitesse Mk2 has an annoying issue. acceleration is fine easy up to 4K if I want . Now cruising at 50 ish the engine becomes hesitant and “unhappy” . My uneducated guess is to retard timing. Any ideas welcomed Paul
  18. I have also moved to a Huco pull pump mounted in the engine bay . The upgrade was for the same reasons ie unexplained fuel issues. Now you get the tick tick when the ignition is turned on and you know the fuel has reached the carbs Paul
  19. Thanks Pete , any reason why dr Distributor is more than twice the price ? Paul
  20. Hi looking to have my Lucas 22d distributor reconditioned . Dr Distributor has quoted £240 and the Club Shop’s price is £105 . Both prices are for points . Why the huge difference ? Im learning the hard way that you have to pay for quality but is this premium worth it or justified ? Paul
  21. Pretty sure ive cracked it - this is correct way of wiring ( subject to testing ) There are 6 cables coming from the Hazard Unit Purple . This has inline fuse and connect to live source Black . Connect to earth Green & White - Connect to Green & White - removed single bullet connector & replaced with double Green - Connect to Green - removed single bullet connector & replaced with double Disconnect one end of Green & Purple of the Indicator loom and replace with a green and purple wire from the Hazard Add a single connector to the remaining Green & Purple wire from the indicator loom and add the remaining green and purple wire from the hazard loom Just need to prove and Yes the Hazard Warning lights work Paul
  22. Just installing the Club Shop Hazard Warning System on my Vitesse Mk2 and finding the instructions difficult to understand Just a point the bullet connectors are CR*P , they pull off so ditch them and replace There are 6 cables coming from the Hazard Unit Purple . This has inline fuse and connect to live source ---- Done Black . Connect to earth --- Done Green & White - Connect to Green & White - removed single bullet connector & replaced with double -- Done Green - Connect to Green - removed single bullet connector & replaced with double -- Done 1st Green & Purple Connect to Feed Wire ( Green & Brown ) removed single bullet connector & replaced with double -- Done 2nd Green & Purple Connect to Terminal B on the Flasher Unit - Does this mean I have to remove the Flasher Unit and there will be a Terminal B ??? I thought Id ask before stripping the Flasher Unit switch Paul
  23. Update I was preparing to add new Voltage Stabiliser to feed the Fuel Gauge and I thought Id try another Gauge and the replacement Fuel Gauge works . Need a full test to prove but so far so good . Normally I find the problem much later down the checking / replacement process 😄 Paul
  24. Hi , I’m not far away in Pakenham outside Bury St Edmunds . I have a mk2 vitesse 1969 purchased 3 years ago. You are in good hands with this forum a 1 stop info and advice source for your Vitesse Paul
