  1. Try Park lane, reasonably priced and good service. Excellent products! Park Lane Classics 47 Park Ln, Bonehill, Mile Oak, Tamworth B78 3HZ 01827 284957 https://g.co/kgs/cKSAnU
  2. Best to check the clutch fluid level first. If that is low or none there at all, its either the master or slave cylinder faulty/ leaking. Don't know what the ping could be, check the linkage on the slave cylinder. Good luck!
  3. I just completed survey, didn't need to sign into google
  4. I had oversized pins fitted by a local very small machine shop, it was very successful. The holes need to be drilled very precisely to work properly. The pins I was supplied with were harden steel and sold as original size but were in fact oversized.
  5. Found problem with starting was the ignition switch (see pic), starter is fine. So will not upgrade starter yet, if it ain't broke don't fix it!
  6. Have been advised by supplier (James Paddock) that some struts are slightly longer so require packers in the bottom to lock the insert solid. The inserts are only available in one size.
  7. Hi all Just fitted new gaz front strut inserts. They were shorter than the originals and did not touch the bottom of inside the strut. Just pushed the car up and down and there is knocking noises. Should I have put something inside the strut so to support the bottom of the insert? If so what? Many thanks
  8. Had two props made by Dave Mac, very good no problems at all. Highly recommended
  9. 2500 saloon The solenoid on my starter motor is on the blink. The question is, are the new hi torque starter motors worth the extra money? They are about £80 extra. Many thanks
  10. Driveshaft now reassembled and fitted. Ended up filing damaged the threads and got nut on luckily. All new bearings and UJ so all should be good now! Despite a telephone conversation, an email with pictures, and two whats app messages with pictures no replacement shaft. Spitbitz did not respond or replace the damaged shaft. Very disappointed with their after sales service and will not use again.
  11. Thanks will have a look at it. It happens to the rear carb on both my car's🙄
  12. Hello all Sometimes when I pull out the choke the carb jet sticks down even after I push the choke in. A quick prod and it springs back up and all is good, it's a bit of pain. I tried copper slip but no joy. Any ideas?
  13. Quite annoyed they sent me stuff like this,😡👎
  14. Just noticed the second driveshaft the supplier sent has knackered threads!😡 The hub had already been removed by a clown, looks like they hit it with a big hammer! Sent photos to supplier and waiting for response, not happy as I have fitted a new uj☹️😡
  15. Seat runners are from a 2000 I think.
  16. It's a patch of rougher metal . Yeah the ball bearing was spinning in the housing, must have made a hell of a noise! Thanks for the advice on the flinger position, a job for this week!
  17. I bought a new one supplied from Moss made in India, uj failed and sliding joint had redicullous amount sideways play only covered about 2000 mile's but was out of the 12 month warranty😡 So I had one made by Dave Mac props, all good now😁
  18. I've got 155x13 Continental's on mine all seems good. Early 1972 car on original wheel's
  19. Looks pretty normal to me!
  20. I purchased the driveshaft second hand from a supplier. I dismantled it as the main ball-bearing was shot, then discovered this. I have got a replacement from the supplier which is good. I may keep this as a spare. Thanks for the advice👍
  21. Hi All Can anyone confirm if this driveshaft is usable or scrap? Many thanks
  22. Hi all DASH TOP VINYL GT6MK3/SPITMK1V + 1500(815281) Has anyone fitted one of these? Fits over existing vinyl. What is the fit finish ect like? Listed on James Paddock and Rimmer's websites My dash top has been damaged at the paint shop, a top paint job but somehow dash got a knocked, very annoying! Many thanks
  23. I fitted a acccuspark unit to my spitfire, worked well for a few years, then car started to misfire. Replaced with points and condensor and all was well. I haven't bothered with electronic ignition again, I don't think they are worth the bother when I only cover 2000 miles a year! Had a complete failure with a pertronix unit on my 2500 saloon only lasted about 18 months, now on points and condensor.
  24. Had good fiddle this afternoon. Took out ignition switch while test lamp was on coil+ and battery-, all good not even a flicker on the lamp. Checked coil connections + feed to coil spade connection slightly loose. All others good, changed condenser as a precaution. Hopefully will be ok now🤞
