Any other symptoms? Wet plugs? Was there are fine pulsing spray from the injector?
Any odd noises from the pump?

There is a massive battery store at Leighton Buzard, covering for a flaw in the national grid I think.
-
I bet you don't find the lithium battery packs in scrapyards.
i think most are actually turned into power stores as part of the electricity grid

Surely is is just a stuck clutch plate.
put it in gear with clutch pedal down, and start it, that usually works. Make sure nothing in front of car for a lng distance in case my advise doesnt work.

Getting the H frame in is a bit of an art.
you have to hook it over the gearstick and then pull the feet towards you as you push the top backwards.
You may need to lift the dash up to get the top in fully, then heave the feet to their final position.

it is a red GT4, belongs to Mike, a local member.
He was offered a GT shell many years ago that was in good nick, so it got used.
One day it may go back to being a GT6, but no refitting of the boat anchor yet

Be warned, the semi sports systems can be louder than the full sports ones, particularly if a Bell system.
the single pipe Phoenix systems can be quieter, particularly if twinned with a centre silencer

Some transit calipers have different mount spacing, but they are a good source of new pistons and seals when rebuilding a stag calipers.
You also get the Stag calipers on some old Sherpas

My Mk3 Spitfire would cruise at 4500 to 5000rpm before I fitted the OD to save my eardrums,
I have lower profile tyres which didn't help either.

If you want bigger the you can fit T2000 calipers to type 14 mounts, and use a Vitessse disc I think. The car I had used (dangerously) modified 2000 discs.

With your age of car you do not actually need to display the VIN number, but it is so much easier to avoid any hassle at the MOT station, so all I did was scratch the number on a bit of alloy plate and rivit it to the bulkhead. Don't screw it, as screws are easier to use if faking an identity rather than the box of pop rivets on the shelf apparently.

The go on the radiator bracket on four cylinder cars, and bonnet on sixes I am sure.

Thanks for that but I am trying to keep the car original as best I can.
Why not buy the alloy ones and spray them rusty coloured?

I think is probably more a case that the cars have been too "cheap" to warrant spending money on getting noisy layshafts sorted.
I have 3 out of 4 gearboxes making a noise at idle. The one that doesn't was rebuilt about 10k ago

I have fitted new rubbers (strips of cut up inner tube) and then used a rubber mallet to hammmer the metal strip back on.
-
You could buy alloy ones from Canleys, sit down before ringing.

If some of the new hoses I have seen are anything to go by I would expect them to last 10 times as long. I have had a few hoses not last a year.

Hmm, a excellent (but scruffy) Herald estate. Sounds like it could be Colin? If so he is a gem...
It was my car, but I have sold it, and the new owner has been forced to put it into daily service following a wheel bearing failure on his daily drIver Mk3 Spitfire.
The 2000 was my steed for the night. Finally fixed the misfire that plagued us in the RBRR it seems so was out enjoying it.

Are you a convert Colin?
To OP, if you must use NGK either 5 or 6 will work. 6 preferred (IMO) unless you have a bit of an oil burner.
They were much harder to foul on 2 of my PI equipped cars, though I did eventually succeed. And then they cleaned up easily and worked again.

can you work it out from the picture?

It is up out the top, 270 degree bend to the L shaped bracket. The flexihose to the outer side of the opposing wishbone, then solid to T Piece.

I always think the biggest risk is driving a 50+yr old car😲
I think the biggest risk is other people's ideas of how you might be driving a 50yr old car sometimes.
yes my brakes really are as good as yours and yes I can accelerate faster than a push bike..........

Can't be anything too major
Download a set of the PI fault finding cards and start working through them.
You may be able to spot something obvious yourself
