6 is usual, 5 is a hotter one.
I use 5 in my PI equipped cars as they seem less likely to foul.
Well I did until I,was pointed at the 3-prong Bosch ones.

That is not a TR6 wheel, looks like an aftermarket one to me.
Similar to the dealer fit wood rim version.
Original Spit4 is same as Herald 1200 I think. That one is much nicer
An 1147 FC engine should be easier to source than an FD Mk3 engine.

Looks like it has had a bit of tidying up.
much closer to original spec now?
-
Fill the boot with bags of sand or gravel or similar and go for a long and hopefully undulating drive.
that will soon settle out
-
Referring to ShaunW comments about the sun visors, they were optional extra on early Spitfires, so that can not be required.
My Mk3 has never had any.

Best by far are the Cibie ones, now no ta so cheap.
i purchased a set of the Bad Boy Classics ones for another of the cars, for the price not bad value at all.
buy the set that's is best value for money, as prices varies for different cars, but same items

Canleys list a top tint for a GT6
-
You can just order a top tint windscreen, I have one fitted to my Mk4
you can also get full tint, butt it isn't quite the same colour as a Syndym one.

I was always told Momentum was a rebranded product from Greenergy who are down near Dartford. It gets its octane from use of ethanol and similar.
All petrol come from just a couple of places, the companies just add their own additives afterwards.
Most of the fuel in the South East comes from Shell Haven on the Thames, you see all the different tankers coming and going.

I have at least one WE prefix box.
is it 3-rail and J- type?
-
Guy in north London. I can probably get details.
-
4K for a bespoke manifold? Are you having it diamond encrusted?
Not even GT used to charge that!
Should be max of £1200 as that is about what a mate paid for a proper 6-3-1 made to measure for his car with engine moved back 6 inches.
-
If you were nearer to East Anglia I could recommend a man to sort it all for you at a reasonable price.
cheers

My Mk3 spit has doubled in value in the last 30 years.
not great appreciation.
should have bought a TR

Put fence posts along the sills to spread the load.
you don't have to take rear subframes off, just pull them outwards one at a time to free the extension housing,
you may also need to lever them downwards when reinserting the diff assy. A large jack with a big pad on the top helps a lot.
cheers

Pete
take the diff off and the extension housing, and do it all on the bench.
So much easier, less chance of damage.
less fighting on the way out, less on way back in.
reinforce the extension if it hasn't been done already

probably something with a 65 ratio
lots of choice in 165/65-14 or 175/65-14 have lots of choice.
not sure how they compare to a 155/80-13 for rolling radius.
-
If going Minilite, go 14 inch, tyre choice so much better. And more likely to remain so.
but 5.5J steels, definately! And live with poor tyre availability.
-
I can't see any rubber in your mount.
definately not as Triumph item I am sure
-
They didn't do Spitfire shells due to no tooling for the rear "hump" over the diff.
would have cost too much to tool apparently.
I think most of the other tooling is worn out now having seen the piss poor fit of some recent panels.
-
What does your one look like?
-
I think so, you just need to get the right combination of words
-
My original Mk3 floor plans have 6 cattive nuts welded to the underside, so seats for different markets bolt straight in,
Upgrade to type 14

Have you got the looped solid pipes attached yet?
