  1. Yes it might but at least it didn't cost much. I'll just try a second after the pump, as I have one already
  2. So. What you are saying is that the washer system is a load of balls... I've a spare inline non return valve which works so I think my next step will be to cut the pipe from the pump to the jets and fit it then retest. Maybe tomorrow as lawnmower is now in the hands of a professional as it just managed to do the grass today, even my wife could tell it wasn't running well, I've done everything I could other than hitting it with a mallet, which did become a serious possibility at one point.
  3. There is a functioning non return valve in the bottle but I have no idea if there is anothert after the pump, will have a look in the next day or two. The washers did work, after a fashion, so I suspect the bellows or a second non return valve stuck open. If I go for the electric pump option no problems getting one here either (already located a good candidate) I'm not up to reworking the pump and wiper switch as above so will just add a press or switch to the dash, or under if I don't want it visible. Been looking for suitable pushes that sort of look ok. Like the one with the 'W' must do more research.
  4. When I pump the system I do get a few drops at the jets which to me proves the system is basically ok. It did cross my mind that the bellows could well be the culprit but are they servicable and can the combined pump washer switch unit be opened easily?
  5. Hi all, I suspect I'll have to replace my washer pump. The switch for the wipers works fine it is the pump part that is suffering. I've checked the non return valve is ok, there is no blockage in the system and air does pass. I even confirmed the pipe from the bottle to pump wasn't porous. The original part is 152461 which is, no surprise, not available (unless you know better). I am looking at fitting an electric pump and switch - keeping the rest of the system as it is. What have you used and any tips thanks.
  6. Not only but also, wherever there is scale. Here it is widely used as a cleaner, I buy mine in the supermarket in the household cleaning section in 5 or 10 litre 'bidons' at either 12 or 14 percent, its called 'ménager' to distinguish it from the cooking version. If you want to be posh there are even versions with a perfume additive I think, but not sure, some owners of classics flush the car rad out with it - must check up on that as I will be cleaning out and replacing the coolant in my 13/60 this year.
  7. I agree. I buy mine from a local car spares place that also supplies just about every garage in the area, no way are they going to supply fakes of anything
  8. Are the cracks classed as a 'fail' or just an 'advisory' ?
  9. You would if it was a DeLorean you wanted testing
  10. My 13/60 has a build date of 3 July 1968 and has flags, which from the state of them look to be original
  11. I think he still posts here on rare occasions 😁
  12. They come up from time to time on the bay so keep looking.
  13. The top one came with my 13/60 the bottom one I've just bought on the bay. A little reading tonight is on the cards. When I opened the packaging the seller had also included a brochure for the 1300 TC as well. I'll see if I can pass this on to someone.
  14. There are also lots of posts about the unreliability of condensers. What even system you use carry a spare, that way it won't fail but something else will 🙄
  15. I've had accuspark fitted to my 13/60 since 2015, no problems. It seems to something that people either love or hate. The important thing is that the car starts when you turn the key and runs correctly(ish)
  16. Stock photo of my car, if you need more detail I'll get a photo with ruler
  17. Weren't they only fitted to convertibles?
  18. It was wasn't, maybe after the swinging sixties and all the stuff people smoked/inhaled their sense of perception was still suffereing. . .
  19. The reason it is immaculate is due to the colour combination. The owner could bring themselves to be seen in it so left it hidden in the garage
  20. I know what you mean, just checked my usual centre 12 kms away and they only have 4 slots left for tomorrow, 08h40, 10h00, 10h40 & 15h20. Mind you if I book on line I save 5€ on the 77 'list price'
  21. 1960 to 66 with just short of 700 examples being sold. Citröen took it up after a Norman engineer made one. They were really meant to be used in specialised areas by specialised people, i.e. not for general public use. They weren't very practical - 2 petrol tanks meant not much room in the back, engine in boot as well as the standard one up front, so no boot space. Plus as said, probably more than once 'double the engine double the problems' that would have been less polite in the original French use. Of course the car had a massive power output as a result of the work a mind blowing 26hp - no I haven't missed a zero out. When one does come up for sale a potential buyer has to have deep pockets as a couple of hundred thousand of our Euros will be needed to pay for it.
  22. Yea but only 2, not enough for a good tune
  23. Back in the 80s we were on holiday in Iceland and pulled in for a break at a point where the outflow from a glacier went into the sea. Purely by chance there was a technical crew filming a (large) model submarine deguised as an ice burg with a model helicopter buzzing around. Forget which Bond film but think the one with Grace Jones
  24. It ain't even got a proper roof nor wing mirrors 🤭
  25. One 2cv that had to do stunts required modifying and became a 4 wheel drive with 2 engines, one for the front wheels, one for the rear. I gather they weren't ' synchronised ' and it was lethal to drive and not a joke. Yes in the film it was ' surprisingly.
