Piglet
I seem to recall one of my earlier Spits had one. With Spitfire inscribed on it. I've searched high and low and can't find one. Does anyone know if they are still made? Alex
Josef
I don’t think the Spitfire text was standard, but Mark Field is still selling repros https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284110530066?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=wHiIQUTSS2K&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=en_MztWYTyu&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Piglet
Thanks Josef. Not quite how I remembered mine...and at that price I think I'll make one myself. Or ask a mate with a 3D printer...😊 Alex
Josef
My ‘radio’ is a little plywood box containing a mini amplifier designed for a raspberry pi / arduino and finished with crackle black paint.
Piglet
That's brilliant! I had stereos in my Spits before but nowadays I just like to listen to the engine and any new squeaks or rattles... Alex
NonMember
I filled the radio aperture on my Spitfire with a small wood panel containing an oil pressure gauge and a voltmeter. I've just done the same on the GT6 (having finally fitted an H-frame to it!)

dougbgt6
I used to have this, but amps now replaced by volts and H piece cleaned up a bit. But I'm hoping for this Doug

Peter Truman
The daughters Mk2 Spitfire originally had a wood dash, but she wanted original black the compromise was real black carbon fibre, bear in mind she's an Aero Scape Eng & lightness with strength is important? Note the radio blanking plate with extra worry gauges is also carbon fibre. 20 years and counting I must fit the heater push/pull knob!! Interestingly cutting out the carbon fibre dash killed the cheap jig saw blades totally removing any teeth in around 2in of cut length, but tank cutters for the 2in gauges lasted ok
Neil Clark
Very nice - looks very correct.
Piglet
They all look great! A mate is going to knock me one up on his 3D printer. Maybe at a later date I'll add some extra dials...then he can make me another one with some holes in it! Alex
