daverclasper
Hi. A good few NOS for 175's on ebay at the moment, at a good price. Researching the part no's, they are different to CD 150, with a few saying the the same?. Wondered if the main body size is the same, (which incorporates the diaphragm) on the different carbs , even if the the 175 throat is larger? I need them for CD 150 thanks
Pete Lewis
well not looked deeply but burlen list same for 2500 as 2ltr vitesse B20924 states 150 type (doesnt say 175 which the 2500 has ) bit surprised as the body on the 175 is a good bit larger dia top cover Pete
johny
Be interesting if they are as generally theres a big price difference between JPs listing of 521153 (Vitesse) and JS499 (Stag) - 9.25 compared with 2.95 respectively!
dougbgt6
Dave, I thought I sold you some 150 diaphragms at the Twiddle Day before last? They should last longer than this, I still have some from that batch I haven't need to use. Doug
trigolf
I'm pretty certain 175's are larger. Made that mistake at an autojumble years ago!
johny
Its strange because theres this NOS for sale on ebay which just says Stromberg CD carbs without specifying size.... Pete Lewis
it makes no sense to me the 175 is inherently all round a larger beast than a 150 just the diameter of the top cover rim is .......LARGER than a 150 for the diaphragm to locate into Pete
johny
Yes found the dimensions of the two diaphragms on a NZ site and for CD175 10mm bigger in OD and 6mm on ID. Even there though the price difference is massive with the bigger being $9.52 for a pair as opposed to $47.52 for two of the smaller size. WHY? Because I'm a bit paranoid anyway and do longish distance touring holidays in car, any breakdown that can't be fixed at the side of the road, would be a right downer. So, I though it could be a good idea to slip them in to my shoe box of small bits that could fail, that I put in the the boot for these trips. Would like to buy another pair off you please, if possible?. Unless, anyone else needs them more urgently?, Thanks
johny
Superglue is your friend Dave! In a pinch any split in a diaphragm can be glued - of course a replacement diaphragm is even better but dont forget got to leave room for some luggage on those touring hols😂
Pete Lewis
probably less room needed for supa glue rather than gaffer tape or old marigolds Pete

Hi Dave, the original batch was 7, you had 2 and Mark at East Berks had 2 leaving 3. As the pair in my GT6 are 30 years old I'd really like to hang on to the remaining ones. Sorry! However, just checking on Ebay there are a few claiming to be for CD150s, some NOS which would be what I'd go for, you don't want any elephant condoms!
