Keith Scotch
I've just noticed that the brake servo on my 1973 GT6 is leaking brake fluid (not from either of the 2 hydraulic connecting pipes). Do you think the unit could be repairable or do I need to start looking for a replacement? Canley classics have quoted £308. thanks Keith
Pete Lewis
depends on what make servo the simplest swap is the universal kit £99 and can be cheaper if you search mini and MG sites James Paddock Limited - Triumph Stag, Spitfire, TR6, TR7, GT6, Vitesse, Herald Parts and Spares Specialists. johny
If you have an original Triumph supplied Girling Powerstop servo these are worth restoring and keeping - just look at the prices of them on eBay! Otherwise if its an aftermarket Lockheed unit (as Canley are offering) these, as Pete says, can be replaced much more cheaply....

dougbgt6
I have t disagree with Johny, Girling's may be "worth a bit" but they're not very good. There's a reason Lockheed's are everywhere, £308 however is a rip off, James Paddock's £99 is more like it. Doug
trigolf
There is a company in Bury St Edmunds, IIRC, 'Past Parts' ? that can sleeve the Girling cylinder bore and fully rebuild. It's not cheap mind, but if you like originality...Powertrack also supply seal kits for same. I rebuilt my Girling servo after getting it sleeved and am happy with it. Waynebaby
Keith, J & L Spares Ltd (01706 644210) in Castleton near Rochdale overhauled my Girling Powerstop servo back in 2017 when it started leaking fluid. It's worked well ever since. Unfortunately I can't find the invoice, so I don't know what they charged. Wayne
Keith Nock
Past parts in bury st Edmonds rebuilt my original GT6 Girling bake servo in 2008 . I have just found the receipt £207. 68 not cheap but nice to keep originality, only point to note is originally the two parts of the main case was swaged over when rebuilt they come back with a clap holding it together a bit like a jubilees clip as that was the part of the genuine Girling rebuild kit. You could look on eBay and may find a new old stock Girling servo rebuild kit Regards keith
trigolf
As said, Powertrack sell complete remanufactured rebuild kits, including the clamp ring.
