martyn wright Posted July 16, 2017 Report Share Posted July 16, 2017 Hi, Can anyone shed some light on the Rear Chrome on my Mk1 1600 as I have just found that it could be possibly a "Plain" Number Plate Chrome Cover and I have just purchased one which says "Vitesse" across the centre? Colin Lindsay Posted July 16, 2017 Report Share Posted July 16, 2017 Probably as Bivvyman has pointed out it's the difference between the Mk1 and Mk2 models or at least between early and later models.... I know the numberplate light setup changed so this may also have led to a change in the shroud. Has yours a cutout along the bottom for the numberplate light or a lower straight edge? Steve P Posted July 16, 2017 Report Share Posted July 16, 2017 I believe the MK 1 1600 and 2L had a plain cover(mine does ) and the MK 2 had the Vitesse badge in the middle along with the aliminium looking plate in the number plate recess on the boot.
