Pete Lewis
Yes the original design is slacken screw remove keyholed plate , lift cover leaving screws in place a real poor mans quick release idea In the past ive replace with big penny washers and 8mm or 10mm headed acme self tappers, easy to wizz off with a socket in a drill As bulk head think about a long bolt from engine side , hold in place with a thin nut to resemble a stud then just spin a nut on when your In the footwell. pulls the cover up fully to the baulkhead panel without a fight to align any previous holes, if you get the idea Pete

dougbgt6
Richard, Yes, on top of tunnel lip. There's also a washer in there somewhere! So, screw through washer, through "Keyhole" plate, through tunnel, through seal and into body. Doug
mishmosh
I have used penny washers and 25 x5 screws successfully to fix it down. Quick job with a cordless.
dougbgt6
I think the cardboard tunnel consistency is so weak that the keyhole plate gives a better chance of holding the tunnel down. A simple screw and washer quickly pulls through the cardboard. Doug
Guest
Thankfully I have the "keyhole" plates so with a clean-up & refurb they will do nicely. Regards. Richard.

I was up in Central London last weekend and my penny cost me 50p - still better that, than being the subject of public humiliation !!! I'm a bit too old to jump the barriers these days Regards. ludwig113
i'm looking to use these DZUS fasteners thru a metal strip on the top of the lip where the normal fasteners go thru, that should give even pressure over the length of the tunnel, plus will make it easier to remove. https://www.southco.com/en-us/d2
Colin Lindsay
How often are you intending to remove it?
